More specifically, this operates on the banks of the Ohio River, with the casino section of the resort housed inside the actual docked riverboat and the rest of the property located on land. Interestingly, the initial launch of Belterra Casino Resort & Spa has to be briefly postponed as the riverboat collided with a barge and sank while en route to Indiana.
Although it is owned and operated by Pinnacle Entertainment, the property on which the venue stands still belongs to Switzerland County, IN. Pinnacle currently utilises the Belterra Casino Resort & Spa property on a 50-year lease with the option to buy for US$ 30 million when the lease ends in 2020.
Included on these 148 acres of land are 47201-square-foot casino, a 608-room hotel, a spa and salon, a golf course, a swimming pool, six retail stores, six restaurants, a conference centre, two sports bars, a live show venue, and more.
The Belterra Hotel
There are six different options – including a pet-friendly room – among the 608 guestrooms. Each of the rooms features lavish furnishings and fixtures with a modern yet warm feel to the décor.
Some of the on-the-house amenities enjoyed by the guests include wireless internet, access to the Fitness Centre and pool, bottled water, a valet service, separate glass showers, cable television, in-room coffee machines, and bar fridges.
Alternatively, visitors to Belterra Casino Resort & Spa can stay at the nearby Ogle Haus Inn, a more affordable destination affiliated to the hotel.
The Riverboat Casino
Unlike many others that simply bear the title these days, Belterra Casino Resort & Spa is an actual riverboat casino. It is housed in the boat portion of the venue and features two floors covering nearly 50 000 square feet.
This offers 1 277 slot machines, 45 table games and a special poker room with nine poker tables.
